You don't have to use artificial light in the morning since it freely enters your house through the windows. I just hope they're properly insulated so that you won't have troubles with temperature. I have many more questions about this design, other designs, and your installation process. I hope you don't mind.

Thanks again,
DaneAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10514648576368933876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3749495035157758785.post-25872194270338011932012-09-03T09:28:40.286-07:002012-09-03T09:28:40.286-07:00Hi, Dane - I'll try to find the actual measur...Hi, Dane - I'll try to find the actual measurements and email them to you. Meanwhile, here are some more detailed pics of the configuration:
http://www.fish-byte.com/images/Hatch.jpg
http://www.fish-byte.com/images/Hatch7.jpg

The accordian-type attic stair unit is available through Home Depot (mailorder only). I simply mounted this within the floor joists of the deck, then put the roof hatch over it. The open areas around the stair unit will be filled in.

There are several different roof hatches available. I opted for one which opens to the side, which allowed me to put in a handrail on the underside (it's just a 30" stainless-steel shower grab-bar).JimSachshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02360679433809522789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3749495035157758785.post-82524465683411952702012-08-31T13:56:18.890-07:002012-08-31T13:56:18.890-07:00I'm very curious about your roof hatch and lad...I'm very curious about your roof hatch and ladder configuration.
